    Newport Community Orchestra
The Newport Community Orchestra is welcoming musicians to participate in it's 19th season.  Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, September 10 from 6:30-8:30 at Salve Regina University's Ochre Court.  The Winter concert will be held on Tuesday, December 7 at 7:30 in Ochre Court's great hall.  The program will include music by Bizet, Mendelssohn and Berbarick.  The orchestra is directed by Mr. Vincent Mattera.
The mission of the orchestra is to provide opportunities for skilled musicians to perform in a community-based orchestra and to provide classical orchestra music to the community.  The orchestra serves the university community, student musicians at the middle and high school level and adult musicians in the community at large.
This is an excellent opportunity to perform in a high level, full orchestra.  I encourage you all to participate.  Participation in this orchestra will also satisfy the ensemble criteria for honors orchestra. Those interested in playing please contact Mr. Mattera at .
