Thank you for your interest in before and after school child care offered at the Pell School in Newport by the Newport Family and Child Opportunity Zone.  Champion Childcare will be open Monday through Friday each school day for students enrolled at Pell Elementary School only.  AM care will open at 6:30 am and PM care will be open from school dismissal until 6:00 pm each school day. The program is held on-site at the Pell School which allows children to easily transition to and from the school day.  Childcare activities include homework time, student choice time, structured activities, and outdoor play time.  Students attending AM care may have school breakfast daily before heading to class.  Students in PM care receive a daily snack/meal after school each day.  Meals are offered at no additional cost to families.

In response to COVID-19, Champion Childcare will maintain ratios required by the state and will follow all guidance, recommendations and protocols for management and cleaning to ensure the safety of students and staff.  We are a 4 Star rated program by the RI Bright Stars Quality Rating System

The Newport Family and Child Opportunity Zone has been working in partnership with Newport Public Schools for over 25 years.  Our office is on-site at the Pell Elementary School and we will see your child throughout the day. We work closely with teachers and specialists to ensure that we understand the needs of your child.  We look forward to serving you and your family.
