Welcome to Thompson Middle School!!
The Flu Shot Clinic at Thompson Middle School is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9th from 3 - 6 PM in the school's cafeteria. Registration is recommended but not required for all students, staff/faculty, and family members. Registration may be done online at www.schoolflu.com. Registration can also be done upon arrival to the clinic.
Attention 7th and 8th Grade Students: RI Department of Health requires the following:
7th grade students are required to have a physical exam completed the year before or 6 months after the start of 7th grade. Please send your physical exam record to the school nurse as soon as possible. This exam includes updated immunizations for Tdap booster, first HPV, and Meningitis.
8th grade students are required to have a second HPV immunization.
The next VBYG clinic will be scheduled soon.
Vaccinate Before You Graduate (VBYG) is an adolescent immunization pogram offered by the RI Department of Health open to all students in grades 5 - 12. Students should visit their doctors every year for immunizations, however all immunizations that students need are also available through VBYG.
VBYG clinics take place during the school day. Parents do not need to be present however a consent form is necessary. There is no out-of-pocket cost for the immunizations.
The preferred registration method is to register online at www.thewellcomp.com. This may be done at any time; a clinic date does not need to be scheduled to complete the registration form.
You may also obtain a registration form from the school nurse or print a form here. Parent signature is required for each vaccine requested. Return the form to the school nurse at any time. VBYG clinics are scheduled based on need. If there are no upcoming clinics posted above notify the school nurse that you are interested in this program so one can be scheduled for you.
Available immunizations include: Hepatitis A, Hepitatis B, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) for males and females, Influenza, Meningitis, Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR), Polio, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap), and Varicella (Chickenpox).

Scoliosis Screening for 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Students
Please send in physical exam forms when your children have their annual exams and include a scoliosis screening. Students who have already been screened by their physician will not be screened again by the school nurse.
