  • NACTC Meets Taste of Newport

    On Sunday, October 29th a team of high school students from the Newport Area Career and Technical Center (NACTC) culinary arts program, under the direction of Chef Steven Kalble, participated in the 34th annual Taste of Newport fundraiser for the Child & Family foster care program. Their participation supports the Child & Family mission of preparing young people for employment, said Marty Sinnott, CEO and President of Child and Family. Culinary students helped plan the menu, prepare ingredients, and build the display at the Atlantic Resort in Middletown,RI. The NACTC menu offered 3 varieties of bruschetta, which included ingredients such as venison, truffle oil, garlic and fresh tomato. Over 200 guests attended this year’s Taste of Newport with participation from over 20 iconic restaurants including Midtown Oyster Bar, Whitehorse Tavern, Diego’s and Sardella’s.
