NACTC Kitchen Expecting Busy Weekend
This is a big weekend for the Newport Area Career & Technical Center (NACTC) Culinary Arts program.
Starting this Friday and all through the weekend, chefs from Boston, New York and Newport will be working side by side in our NACTC culinary kitchen with our culinary students as they prepare their signature dishes for the Newport Mansion Food & Wine Festival.
Our very own Chef Jennifer is one of the featured woman chefs at the Newport Mansion Food & Wine festival; The Vintner Dinner. Being held at Rosecliff, Saturday night.
The students are making the baguettes for the dinner. NACTC has aslo been asked to make the Butter Pound Cake for celebrity Chef Jacque Pepin's demonstration. Saturday & Sunday at the Marble House.
Sunday Brunch also being held at Marble House we are featuring our breakfast pastries, croissants, ginger & cranberry scones and Apfelkuchen.
Beside the Newport Food & Wine Festival NACTC students will also be making goods for the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Culinary Federation's Scholarship Lobster Boil, being held this Sunday at Hope & Main, Warren, Rhode Island, items being prepared include assorted corn breads; Bacon & Chive, Southwest Peppers & Jalapeño and Roasted Corn & Cheddar.
