Senator Jack Reed Honored

Rogers High School Student Alize Duarte introduced the Paul Crowley Award at the RI School Superintendents Association (RISSA) meeting on Thursday, May 3, 2018.  Senator Jack Reed was this year's recipient for all his efforts to promote and support education. Ms. Duarte shared the history and works of not only RI first educational advocate in our Assembly, she also shared the work and impacts of all the Crowley family including Paul Crowley’s wife, Diana, his brother Michael former Middletown school committee chair, and his nephew, the late Jaime Crowley of Newport and former TMS principal and RHS assistant principal. Jaime's mother Judy Crowley still teaches and his wife Melissa Crowley works as a para-educator in the Newport Public Schools.
