■ The Glow Dance is tomorrow, Saturday, April 28th. It will run from 7-10 in the Gym. Come and enjoy the last informal dance of the year. Tickets will be $ 10.00 and are on sale during lunch or see any senior class officer.


■ YEARBOOKS ARE ON SALE NOW!  Order your yearbook now for $60.  The deadline is May 8th.  Please see Mr. Connell (room 306), Mrs. Kimes (room 106) or Jane Leys to purchase your yearbook.  Please make checks out to Rogers High School and write yearbook/Binnacle in the memo line.


■ Reminder: senior project presentation sign-ups are located on the NCS bulletin board. Presentations will be next Thursday, May 3rd. Sign up today!  See Ms. Dugan if you have any questions. Please submit all documents ASAP! 


■ Next Thursday, May 3rd Bristol Community College will be visiting to share information with interested students. BCC is both an affordable and supportive opportunity. Please see Miss D if you are interested!

■ Yesterday the track and field teams competed against Portsmouth, East Providence and Tiverton. The girls beat Tiverton while the boys remained undefeated! Graeme Clougher was a big winner taking the 400 and 800 meter runs. Ian Hall won the shot put and javelin. Brian Neal won the hammer, and Colton Kenney won the discus. Khalil Woodlyn won the pole vault and Edward Garafalo won the triple jump. Eldwin Peru was first in the 100 meter dash. For the girls Jianna Peno earned Rogers' lone victory in the shot put. Tomorrow members of both teams will compete in the Classical Classic.

■Softball defeated North Smithfield 8-0. MacKenzie Palmer, Shea Milburn, and Shannon Ward each doubled to start the game and helped Rogers jump out to a three-run lead in the first inning. Lilly Bestoso had an RBI single in the first and Rogers scored five more in the fifth inning. Ward doubled, setting the table for Izzy Booth, who hit a two-run home run to center field. Tomorrow at noon the girls will host Ponaganset at Toppa Field.

■Baseball is 8-1 halfway through the season after defeating Central Falls 15-3.  Freshman pitcher Brenden O'Neil came on in relief of Hunter Hansen and did not allow a hit while striking out two in over 3 innings of work. Jack Gomes had two hits, walked twice and drove in three runs for the Vikings. Alex Garcia doubled, walked and drove in three, Matt Fraticelli doubled and scored and James Paiva had a base hit.

■Ben Pratt shot a low round of 47 yesterday at the Newport Country Club but the team fell to 0-3 with losses to Barrington and East Providence.

■ This afternoon at Fort Adams the boys lacrosse team is set to play Tiverton with the first draw at 4 pm.
