OLIVER HAZARD PERRY

 There will be an information meeting for the Oliver Hazard Perry trip tomorrow, Tuesday, May 15th, at 6:00 pm in room 924 NACTC building.

NEWPORT COMMUNITY SCHOOL

■Newport Community School will run in the library today. Academic recovery will continue this week, students should come to the library following dismissal.  Students participating in yoga with Ms. D, art or manicure Mondays please check into the library first. 

SENIORS

■ SENIORS, if you would like to announce your plans for next year at Senior Launch day whether they are plans for employment, military or 2/4 year colleges see Miss DeCollibus ASAP. Signs ups close today!

■Seniors: you can pick up your rubrics today in the NCS office.  Congratulations to those who presented last week! 

JUNIORS

■ Junior Prom tickets are now on sale. The prom with be held Friday, May 25th at Easton's Beach Rotunda. Ticket prices are $40 for Rogers juniors and $50 for any guests.  Please find the junior class officers at lunches to purchase your ticket today. The last day to purchase tickets is Monday, May 21st. 

BEST BUDDIES

■ Best Buddies will be holding a candy jar raffle during all lunches through today. It's a dollar per guest and the winner will receive the jar of candy! If you have any questions please see best buddies Ambassador Jamel Wills for more information.  Thank you!!

RHS START TIMES

■ Effective September 2018, the new start times for RHS will be as follows:  Bell at 7:25 and classes 7:30 am to 2:00 pm.

SPORTS

■ Cheerleading try-outs for next Fall will be held on Tuesday, May 29th and Thursday, May 31st from 6-8pm in the gym. All interested MUST attend both evenings! Participants should wear appropriate clothing, NO jeans or jewelry. The try-out is closed and not open to family, friends or other spectators. ■Saturday the JV softball team pulled away in the later innings to earn the win over Cranston West. This afternoon the varsity team heads to Barrington for a showdown with the Eagles.

■ Saturday afternoon girls lacrosse mustered up another win in rainy conditions against Tiverton. This afternoon starting at 4:30 the girls look to complete an earlier suspended game with also unbeaten Westerly. Currently, our girls hold a narrow lead with less than 2 minutes to play in the first half. Come out and support the girls!

■Members of the boys outdoor track and field team will be competing this afternoon in the St. Germain Invitational. All those attending please be certain to pick up your dismissal slip by your lunch time in the Dean's office.

■ There will be no golf practice today.
