■ Newport Community School will run in the library after school. Come get your homework and makeup work done. The last day of NCS for the 2017-2018 school year will be this Thursday! 


■ Class of 2018 National Honor Society:  Reminder- your verification forms for required individual community service hours are due no later than 3 pm today, Monday, May 21, 2018.  Please bring forms to room 106.  

■ Class of 2019 National Honor Society:  Our next meeting is this Tuesday, May 22 starting at 2:55 pm in room 106. 


■ Seniors: If you have not already signed up to present, please see Ms. Dugan this week! Reminder - senior project is a graduation requirement. Any questions stop by the NCS office. 

■ Attention all seniors, if you have participated AND completed at least 1 sport season this year you will be invited to the 50th Annual Rogers Athletics Boosters Senior Sports Award dinner. First, please check your school email for a link to a google form to be filled out for your award. The form must be completed by next Tuesday, May 29th in order to receive an award.

■ Seniors:  The cost for the cap and gown is $30.00.  Payment may be made in cash or by check, payable to Rogers High School and brought to the main office.  Payments are due by graduation rehearsal in June.


■ For juniors still in the running for the Prepare-RI Internship Program, please report to room 924 in the NACTC Building, today at 12:55 for the group interview. That’s 12:55 today for Prepare-RI Internship Interviews, room 924 in the NACTC Building.

■ Junior Prom tickets are now on sale. The prom with be held this Friday, May 25th at Easton's Beach Rotunda. Ticket prices are $40 for Rogers juniors and $50 for any guests.  Please find the junior class officers at lunches to purchase your ticket today. The last day to purchase tickets is Monday, May 21st. 


■ The Rogers Art and Music Departments are having their Spring Concert and Showcase this Thursday, May 24th, at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. It will feature students from Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Guitar, and Ukulele!  There will be artwork on display in the lobby from the art classes this semester as well!  Come out and support your fellow students and enjoy a night of exciting music and art!


■ Cheerleading try-outs for next Fall will be held on Tuesday, May 29th and Thursday, May 31st from 6-8pm in the gym. All interested MUST attend both evenings! Participants should wear appropriate clothing, NO jeans or jewelry. The try-out is closed and not open to family, friends or other spectators. ■ Girls lacrosse on Senior day turned back North Providence 12-7. Seniors Faye Callahan, Bridget Murphy and Jane Leys paced the offense while fellow seniors Riley Murphy and Olivia Nunes played stout defense. The win guaranteed at least a share of the program's first ever regular season division title!

■Baseball Friday night clawed themselves out of an early 5-run deficit against North Smithfield.  The team bounced back for 8 runs behind a complete game pitching effort from Ryan Crowley and held on for an 8-7 win! James Paiva and Logan Ratcliff had clutch hits to aid the Viking comeback. Tonight is Senior night at Cardines when the team takes on Central Falls at 6 pm. Please join us before the game to celebrate our 6 senior ball players.

■ Today the boys and girls track teams will head out to Narragansett for the Class C State Championships. All track & field student-athletes will be dismissed at the conclusion of the 6th period for a 2 pm bus.

■ Softball will also have an early dismissal for their game this afternoon in West Warwick. All girls need to pick-up their dismissal slip by their lunchtime from the dean's office.


■ Effective September 2018, the new start times for RHS will be as follows:  Bell at 7:25 and classes 7:30 am to 2:00 pm.
