BLOOD DRIVE

■ On Wednesday, May 30th, RHS will be hosting a blood drive in memory of McKenzie Leno from 12 pm - 8 pm.  Sign-ups will be on Thursday, May 24th and Tuesday, May 29th in the cafeteria during all three lunches. Please see Mikayla Ventura or Brielle Mosher with any questions. 

SENIORS

■ Attention all seniors, if you have participated AND completed at least 1 sport season this year you will be invited to the 50th Annual Rogers Athletics Boosters Senior Sports Award dinner. First, please check your school email for a link to a google form to be filled out for your award. The form must be completed by next Tuesday, May 29th in order to receive an award.

■ Seniors:  The cost for the cap and gown is $30.00.  Payment may be made in cash or by check, payable to Rogers High School and brought to the main office.  Payments are due by graduation rehearsal in June.

JUNIORS

■ Attention any Junior who has signed up to take URI Writing 104 next school year 2018/19, please plan on attending a mandatory meeting with Mrs. Rosa to review the curriculum and start the registration process with URI.  You only need to attend one meeting.  Meetings will be directly after school on Tuesday, May 29th, Thursday, May 31st, and Monday, June 4th, in Room 120.  If you cannot attend one of these meetings, with a legitimate conflict, please email Mrs. Rosa at jessicarosa@npsri.net.  

SPORTS

■ Our top-seeded girls lacrosse team came out determined and made quick work of Tiverton eliminating the Tigers 20-3. Jane Leys finished with a game-high six goals and five assists. Liza Nunes and Faye Callahan each scored four goals, while Emma Daigneault and Lauren Martland added two each. The girls will host the semifinal match versus Cranston West next Wednesday at 3:45 pm.

Boys lacrosse took the girls lead and also come out of the blocks quickly building a quick 5-0 lead and never looked back ending North Providence's season with a decisive 15-1 win. John Nunes scored three goals while Mitch Ventura and Antonio Madera each had two. Olin Martins and Wil Martins chipped in with a goal apiece. Nick Klassner made 13 saves against the Cougars in net. Boys will play their semifinal game on the road against Chariho next Wednesday at 7 pm.

■A 'good job' to Emelie Kroeger, Kayleigh Mosher and Jaden Petrie who all performed well yesterday at the RI girls freshman outdoor track & field state championship. Tomorrow varsity members of the team will have their final shot to qualify for the state meet at the Mt. Pleasant Invitational. Members of the boys team will take their shot at the Hendricken Invitational.

■ Cheerleading try-outs for next Fall will be held on Tuesday, May 29th and Thursday, May 31st from 6-8pm in the gym. All interested MUST attend both evenings! Participants should wear appropriate clothing, NO jeans or jewelry. The try-out is closed and not open to family, friends or other spectators. 2018/19 RHS START TIMES

■ Effective September 2018, the new start times for RHS will be as follows:  Bell at 7:25 and classes 7:30 am to 2:00 pm.
