Tuesday, May 29, 2018 Announcements 


■ Attention all seniors, if you have participated AND completed at least 1 sport season this year you will be invited to the 50th Annual Rogers Athletics Boosters Senior Sports Award dinner.  First, please check your school email for a link to a google form to be filled out for your award. The form must be completed by today, May 29th in order to receive an award.

■ Seniors:  The cost for the cap and gown is $30.00.  Payment may be made in cash or by check, payable to Rogers High School and brought to the main office.  Payments are due by graduation rehearsal in June.


■ Attention any Junior who has signed up to take URI Writing 104 next school year 2018/19, please plan on attending a mandatory meeting with Mrs. Rosa to review the curriculum and start the registration process with URI.  You only need to attend one meeting.  Meetings will be directly after school today, Tuesday, May 29th, Thursday, May 31st, and Monday, June 4th, in Room 120.  If you cannot attend one of these meetings, with a legitimate conflict, please email Mrs. Rosa ajessicarosa@npsri.net.  


■ Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 30th, RHS will be hosting a blood drive in memory of McKenzie Leno from 12 pm - 8 pm.  Sign-ups will be today, Tuesday, May 29th in the cafeteria during all three lunches. Please see Mikayla Ventura or Brielle Mosher with any questions. 


■ Cheerleading try-outs for next Fall will be held today, Tuesday, May 29th and Thursday, May 31st from 6-8pm in the gym. All interested MUST attend both evenings! Participants should wear appropriate clothing, NO jeans or jewelry. The try-out is closed and not open to family, friends or other spectators. ■ Boys Track had yet another fantastic day of competition Saturday in Warwick. The team was the Small School Champion at the Hendricken Invitational and finished second overall. Ian Hall was the javelin winner and named the "Most Outstanding Field" athlete. On the oval Nyrell Lockhart, Eldwin Peru, Graeme Clougher and Osiris Parra set a new school record in the 4x400m relay. The quartet's time of 3:29.68 best the previous mark set 33 years ago in 1985! This afternoon members of JV team will head back to Bishop Hendricken for the JV State Championship.

■ Good luck to Ben Pratt who is Rogers lone representative at today's RI State golf championship. Ben is out on the course already this morning and will try and shoot low enough today to make it to tomorrow's final round. ■ This afternoon immediately after school there is a mandatory meeting for all members of the girls outdoor track and field in room 813.  


■ Effective September 2018, the new start times for RHS will be as follows:  Bell at 7:25 and classes 7:30 am to 2:00 pm.
