VIKING PRESS NEWSPAPER

■ There will be a Viking Press newspaper meeting tomorrow, May 31st. All is invited to attend. Please contact Josephine with any questions. Thank you!

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

■ National Honor Society- Class of 2019​- This is a courtesy reminder that your community service verification forms (for your required ten (10) hours) are due to Mrs. Kimes in room 106 by this Friday, June 1st, by 2:50pm.

■ There will be a brief National Honor Society information assembly for all current freshmen (Class of 2021) and sophomores (Class of 2020) this Friday, June 1st, during period one.

SENIORS

■ Seniors:  The cost for the cap and gown is $30.00.  Payment may be made in cash or by check, payable to Rogers High School and brought to the main office.  Payments are due by graduation rehearsal in June.

JUNIORS

■ Attention any Junior who has signed up to take URI Writing 104 next school year 2018/19, please plan on attending a mandatory meeting with Mrs. Rosa to review the curriculum and start the registration process with URI.  You only need to attend one meeting. Meetings will be directly after school tomorrow, May 31st, and Monday, June 4th, in Room 120.  If you cannot attend one of these meetings, with a legitimate conflict, please email Mrs. Rosa at jessicarosa@npsri.net.  

SPORTS

■ The JV boys track and field team competed in the JV state championship at Hendricken High School yesterday. The team placed 6th overall. Ghaad Jones won the shot put, and Sam bond won the discus! Aiden Trembly-Robinson was 2nd in the discus and Ezra Montiero was 6th in the hammer. Peter Hebda was 6th in the 110 hurdles and the 4x400 team comprised of Angelo Cuevas, Damon Madison, Andres Guzman, and Will Farley was 5th!  This afternoon the girls JVs have their state championship at Mt. Pleasant High School. 

■This afternoon there are three Viking teams in playoff action. Softball enters the D2 post-season double elimination tournament this afternoon in Scituate. Both lacrosse programs have huge semifinal games with a berth in the state championship game at stake. The girls will be home to host Cranston West at 3:45 and the boys will travel to play Chariho at 7pm. Let's get out to the field this afternoon and root our girls on to victory and give the boys a rowdy Rogers sendoff!
