SENIORS

■ Senior Banquet is today. Monday, June 11th, at the Hibernian Hall on Wellington Ave. from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Cost is $5.00 per person to defray the cost of the entertainment.  The parents of the seniors are responsible for providing the food, if you would like to help out by donating a dish or drinks please email Mardie Corcoran  (Jane Leys' mom) at hotcoco22@cox.net, or get in touch with her by text or call at (401) 862-6256 as she is coordinating the food. Food can be dropped off at the Hibernian Hall on Monday anytime after 5:30 pm or your child can bring it with them. Let's make this a great night for the seniors. 

■ Senior prom tickets will be on sale during all three lunches from senior class officers. Tickets are eighteen dollars for members of the Class of 2018 and forty dollars for all others.

■ Seniors:  The cost for the cap and gown is $30.00.  Payment may be made in cash or by check, payable to Rogers High School and brought to the main office.  Payments are due by graduation rehearsal.

SPORTS

■ Softball finished their season with a loss to Prout in the D2 semifinals. This was the end of a remarkable season for the girls. A special thank you to seniors Nathalia Aguilar, Caeli Palmer, Katie Tejada, Meg Turner and Danielle Savage.

■ At the New England Track and Field Championships, Ian Hall was the runner-up in the javelin. Rogers other competitors all finished in their event higher than their seeding going into the meet.  On Saturday, June the boy's track and field team competed in the New England Championship. Ian Hall took 2nd in the Javelin, Ty Medeiros placed 12th in the triple jump and Edward Garadfalo was 14th. Brian Neal was 26th in the discus and Nyrell Lockhart competed in the 400 and placed 30th. The 4x100 relay team of Lockhart, Osiris Parra, Eldwin Peru, Laraib Iqbal was 30th. The 4x400 team of Lockhart, Parra, Peru and Graeme Clougherplaced 18th.  The next and final meet of the season is the National Championship in North Carolina where Ian Hall (Javelin) and Brian Neal (hammer) will compete! 

■ At last night's 50th annual Rogers Boosters Senior Sports Awards banquet the class of 2018 'top performers' were recognized. Taking home some of the most prestigious awards were Noah Erausquin and Meg Turner for the Duke Abbruzzi Award; Meg Turner and John Nunes for the P. Francis Carroll Award, Jane Leys along with Cam Edward with selected as the class' most outstanding athlete.

■ Attention all members of the girl's lacrosse, girls swim and boys outdoor track & field teams! You are being recognized at next Tuesday's 6:30 pm Newport School Committee meeting at Pell School for your championship seasons. Please arrive at Pell by 6:20 and you can expect it to be there for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

■ June 11: Senior Final Exams 7 & makeup; Senior Banquet Hibernian Hall 6:30 pm

 June 12: All Senior Grades are due at 8 am

 June 13: Senior Prom 7 pm

 June 14: Mandatory Rehearsal for Seniors @ Noon; Owe Slips are due

 June 15: Mandatory Rehearsal at 8:15 followed by the Graduate walk through Pell and TMS;

                Class of 2018 Graduation at 6:00 pm.

 June 19: Underclassman Last Full Day of Class

 June 20: Underclassman Exams 1 & 2 (Bus departs at 11:30)

 June 21: Underclassman Exams 3 & 4 (Bus departs at 11:30)

 June 22: Underclassman Exams 5 & 6 (Bus departs at 11:30) 

■ June 25: Underclassman Exam 7 & makeup TMS 8th grade tour, luncheon & promotion ceremony

■ June 26: 180TH day of School with early dismissal
