Update on Rogers High School

A temporary water service has been installed at Rogers High School and the Newport Area Career & Technical Center, allowing both facilities to reopen as usual tomorrow, Thursday, November 1, 2018. Administration Offices will also reopen.

Work has begun to install a new water service to the school.

Until that time, Newport Public Schools is advising students and staff that the water is not recommended for drinking.  It is safe for hand washing. Water for food preparation will be boiled following the guidelines from the RI Department of Health.  Students and staff are encouraged to bring water in bottles as they normally do.  Bottles of water will also be available through the generous donation of school food service provider, Chartwell’s and Coca-Cola Bottling of Southeastern New England forThursday and Friday classes.
