Day 1

FREE PROM DRESS EVENT

■ On Friday, December 21^st, there will be a "Free Prom Dress" event from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at the Elks Lodge, 141 Pelham St, Newport. This event covers the “Night to Shine” attendees, but all students are welcome! Please contact Jennifer Carter @ (401) 837-0554 for more information!  

WINTER CONCERT

■ The Rogers Music Department is hosting its annual Winter Concert Thursday, December 20th at 6:30 in the Rogers Auditorium! Admission is Free! Come enjoy a night of music performed by your fellow classmates!" 

NEWPORT COMMUNITY SCHOOL

■ There will be a home health care facility training course starting the week of January 14th! This class is a pre-cna course offered free to RHS students. See Ms. Dugan for more information. 

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

■The first meeting for the Class of 2020 National Honor Society is Tuesday, December 18^th, right after school in room 106.  Please contact Mrs. Kimes with any questions or concerns.

CLASS OF 2019

■ The class of 2019 is selling candy grams during all lunches for $1. Send a classmate, teacher or friend a kind message and a treat to brighten their day. Candy grams will be delivered on Day 6 during Crew on December 21st.  Be sure to tell the class officers the crew room or teacher where you want your message delivered. 

RHS THEATRE CO

■ The Rogers Theatre Company is pleased to announce that its winter production of “A Christmas Carol" will be presented in the Rogers High School auditorium tonight and tomorrow night at 7pm. Tickets will be available at the door, $5 general admission. 

SPORTS

■ Congratulations to the following members of the state championship volleyball team that earned the following post-season recognition from the RI Girls Volleyball Coaches Association. All State Honorable mention:  Sophie Breitenbach. Division 3 Player of the year: Sophie Breitenbach. 1st team:  Sophie Breitenbach & Shannon Ward. 2nd Team:  Katherine Caparas & Marianna May.

Post -Season All Tournament section:  MVP - Sophie Breitenbach. All Tournament Team - Shannon Ward & Keana McCants

■ Basketball season is here make sure you have your student ID ready for free admission to all games. You can always carry it with you or simply take a picture of it and have it ready to go on your phone. If you forget it please have $5 ready for admission.
