DRIVER EDUCATION
■ The next available Driver Education classes in Newport County are about to start. You must be at least 15 years 10 months in age in order to enroll. If you are interested, you can pick up information in the Main office or on line at www.newportcountydrivingschool.com.
SKILLS USA
■ Skills USA meeting scheduled for today has been rescheduled for January 22th, right after school in room 905. All are welcome to attend.
CLASS OF 2019
■ The Class of 2019 is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner tonight, January 15th at 6:30 pm at the Newport Boys and Girls Club. The cost is $10 per person and tickets can be bought at the door.
■ Any senior pictures for the yearbook can be emailed to rogersyearbook19@gmail.com
■ Senior project deadlines are approaching fast! See Ms. Dugan or Ms. Fountain if you have any questions.
NEWPORT COMMUNITY SCHOOL
■ Newport Community School will run in the library today after school. Come get your homework and make up work done!
■ Earn three free college credits!! Transition to college will start at CCRI in one week! See Ms. Dugan to register in room 125.
PROJECT PURPLE
■ Want to win Project Purple gear? See Mrs. Ruth in the cafe during your lunch period and take the National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week Challenge to enter the Project Purple raffle.
■ Tuesday, January 15th, National Drug & Alcohol Week Fact of the Day
Research shows that the teen brain continues to develop well into your 20's. Alcohol can alter this development, potentially affecting both the brain's structure and its function, meaning how well it processes information.
SPORTS
■ Thursday immediately after school in the Health room there will be a boy's lacrosse meeting for all interested learning more about the team.
■ Girls interested in lacrosse will also meet on Thursday in room 104 immediately after school.
