  • NCS- Please remember, there are no NCS Programs on Fridays.  Take your regular transportation home.  Also, this is a reminder that next week is the last week of afterschool programming.

    Baseball – The boys’ baseball team will attempt to play their final home game of the season today at Vernon against Jamestown.  Game time is 3:45, weather permitting.

    SMILE – 6th, 7th & 8th grade SMILE participants must turn in their permission slips to Ms. Gibbs as soon as possible for Wednesday’s field trip.

    Chess Tournament – If you are participating in the chess tournament this afternoon, please meet in Mr. K’s room 120 after school.

    Student Council – Congratulations to all of the performers who show cased their talents on Friday night at the talent show!  What an amazing job you all did!
    We would also like to commend all the students who came out to watch; you were a respectful and appreciative audience!  A great night for all!

    NCS- Check in for Newport Community School will be at 2:15 in the cafeteria.  Power tickets will be available to students that bring a book, their homework, and their agenda with their homework written down.  Power tickets are also available to students that make positive choices after school. Today’s enrichment programs are ceramics, bootcamp for athletes, tennis, learning through making and culture club.

    If you would like to sign up for the NCS Chess Tournament taking place on Friday, May 26th from 2:3 pm – 4:30pm, please see Mr. K.  The tournament will be held in the cafeteria and prizes will be awarded to the top finishers.  Only 32 slots available!

    Thompson softball team lost to Kickemuit Tuesday at Colt State Park. The game started out with one run in the first inning from Kickemuit. Thompson struggled to get girls on base. Kickemuit returned in the 3rd inning and scored 2 more along with one final run in the 5th. Thompson played well on defense with some great plays in the field, nice bunt coverage and solid pitching on the mound from Jamie Ward with 10 strike outs for the night. They just couldn’t string hits together and with 6 girls left on base Thompson lost 4-0 in their last regular season game. With a great record of 9 and 3 they will be going to playoffs which start next week! Be sure to get out to catch a game! 

    Baseball- The boys’ baseball team was defeated by Wickford yesterday 3-0.  Gavin Crowley pitched well, striking out seven, in the complete game loss.  The Warriors hit the ball solidly on offense but were held to Chess Tournament –If you would like to sign up for the NCS Chess Tournament taking place on Friday, one hit by Liam Marvelle.  The next game is home today against Jamestown.  Game time is 3:45, weather permitting.

    Baseball- The boys’ baseball team defeated Davisville yesterday 13-0. Liam Marvelle went 5 innings , allowing g only two hits and had 5 strikeouts. Offensively, Gavin Crowley had 4 hits including a double, Michael Weaver and win Connelly each had 3 hits. Jordan Ellis had two hits and Liam Marvelle, Darian Piker, Donovan Wright contributed a hit in the victory. The Warriors play again today at Wickford.
