*Gr. 9 Vision Screening

All students in Gr. 9 will be given a vision screening test in accordance to R.I. State Law. If satisfactory evidence is presented that the same screening has been completed in the preceding 12 months from a primary care provider or ophthalmologist, the student shall be exempt from this requirement.

*Gr. 9 Dental Screening

All students in Gr. 9 shall be given a dental screening by a licensed dentist per R.I. State law. M.Kathlyn Nelson D.M.D. provides the screenings for Newport Public Schools. Students who are screened by private dentists and provide written documentation of the screening shall be exempt from the requirement and may elect not to be screened.
