Generally speaking, at the end of this class, you’ll be better prepared to assess and respond to any composing task.
Over the summer, I am going to ask you to complete the following to help me gain a better understanding of you as a writer.
Prepare a final draft of your college essay. You may have worked on this at the end of your junior year, revisit it over the summer and revise it. You will submit this draft to me on the first day of school. This draft should be considered READY TO SUBMIT!!
Remember the criteria for the Common Application essay - 650 word limit! (limit - not goal!)
Revisit the prompts - Read over your essay - Revise! Edit! Have someone else read it!!
Additionally, you need to begin the registration process for the course. This is essential to help the start to the school year run as smoothly as possible. Just as a full-time college student, the onus of registering for classes is on you - not the professor, guidance, or even your parents. If you do not complete the steps necessary and ensure that you are registered with URI, then you will not receive the credits. Please go to my teacher site on the Rogers High School website for information about the registration process.
