The Newport Area Career and Technical Center at Rogers High School is proud to announce that 20 seniors officially committed to their future careers during our annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Signing Day ceremony held at the school's Seaside CafĂŠ.
Modeled after athletic signing days, this event honored students for choosing to enter the workforce, begin apprenticeships, join the military, or pursue advanced technical training immediately after graduation.
"This signing day is a celebration of our students' hard work, passion, and the future they're building with careers that offer financial stability and make a real impact in our communities," said Robert Young, Executive Director of Operations.
Students signed letters of intent to join local industry leaders, including Audrain, Electric Boat, URI, Virginia Tech and CCRI and in high-demand fields including Automotive, Engineering, Advertising Design, Information Technology & Cybersecurity, Culinary Arts, Nursing, Cosmetology and Business.
We are thrilled to celebrate these students taking a pivotal step in their academic and professional journey, showcasing the extensive opportunities available in career and technical education. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

El Centro de Carreras y TĂŠcnicas del Ărea de Newport en Rogers High School se enorgullece de anunciar que 20 estudiantes de Ăşltimo curso se han comprometido oficialmente con sus futuras carreras durante nuestra ceremonia anual de firma del DĂa de la Firma de la EducaciĂłn Profesional y TĂŠcnica (CTE), celebrada en el Seaside CafĂŠ del colegio.
Inspirado en los dĂas de firma deportiva, este evento homenajeaba a los estudiantes que eligieran incorporarse al mercado laboral, comenzar aprendizajes, unirse al ejĂŠrcito o realizar formaciĂłn tĂŠcnica avanzada inmediatamente despuĂŠs de graduarse.
"Este dĂa de firmas es una celebraciĂłn del esfuerzo, la pasiĂłn y el futuro de nuestros estudiantes con carreras que ofrecen estabilidad financiera y tienen un impacto real en nuestras comunidades", dijo Robert Young, Director Ejecutivo de Operaciones.
