CHAMPION CHILDCARE PROGRAM AT PELL

Thank you for your interest in before and after school child care offered at the Pell School in Newport by the Newport Family and Child Opportunity Zone. We are a 5 Star rated program by the RI Bright Stars Quality Rating System which is the highest quality rating.

Champion Childcare is open Monday through Friday each school day for students enrolled at Pell Elementary School only. AM care opens at 6:30 am and PM care is open from school dismissal until 6:00 pm each school day. Hours may be adjusted if school hours change. The program is held on-site at the Pell School which allows children to easily transition to and from the school day. Childcare activities include outdoor play time, homework time, student choice time, and structured activities. Students in PM care receive a daily snack/meal after school each day. Meals are offered at no additional cost to families.

The Newport Family and Child Opportunity Zone has been working in partnership with Newport Public Schools for over 29 years. Our office is on-site at the Pell Elementary School and we will see your child throughout the day. We work closely with teachers and specialists to ensure that we understand the needs of your child. We look forward to serving you and your family.

Enrollment

Registration is open for all families for the 2023-2024 school year. Please fill out an enrollment form for each child you wish to enroll. Completed enrollment forms may be emailed to christinearouth@nspri.net or they may be mailed to: Christine Arouth, NFCOZ Director, Pell Elementary School, 35 Dexter Street, Newport, RI 02840.

A $30 Registration fee per child will be due prior to starting care and will be billed to your Champion Childcare account once your child has been confirmed.
