Dear Family,

It’s time for the Kids Heart Challenge - Jump Rope program! Pell Elementary School is helping the American Heart Association build healthier lives free from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Kids Heart Challenge is a community service opportunity designed to help students learn about the importance of making healthy choices to take care of their hearts. Students will also help improve the health and hearts of others by collecting donations in support of the American Heart Association and its research, education and advocacy work right here in Rhode Island and across the country. Our efforts truly make a difference and help save lives.

The Kids Heart Challenge will take place during Physical Education classes February 13th through February 17th. A special Kids Heart Challenge program has been developed for all students in grades K through 4. Students will participate in jump rope and heart healthy activities. Please consider donating $1.00 to support the American Heart Association and your student will receive a special Heart Hero mascot. For their safety, students should not go door-to-door to collect donations.

Kindly, place your donation in an envelope and write your student’s name, grade and classroom teacher on it. Donations should be returned to Mr. Bowley, Mr. Aldrich or Mr. Sherman and will be accepted from 2/13- 3/9. Check donations should be made payable to the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION.
