In our class, your 2nd grader is expected to read or be read to every night. I don't ask them to log what they've read but to be prepared to share a bit about their home reading with the class. If your child has access to a computer, I ask that they practice their math fluency on the Reflex site. More information about how to access that site will be sent home. Later in the year, your child may bring home spelling words to practice. Most importantly, I want your child to have time to play and build their communication skills through outdoor activities, board games, pretend play and non-stressful time with mom & dad!
