Hello! My name is Stephanie DeAscentis.  This will be my 8th year teaching in the Newport Public School Systems.  This will be my 4th year teaching Kindergarten.  I have also taught 4th Grade and 1st Grade,  I have found that my favorite grade to teach is Kindergarten.  I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Salve Regina University.  I also have a Masters in Education from Salve Regina University as well.   When away from the classroom, I enjoy reading, gardening, going to the beach and walking my dog, Mr. Kelso.   

Being able to teach Kindergarten is not just wonderful, but also a rewarding experience. I am able to see students become independent readers and writers.  It is a joy to see their smiling faces in the morning and their eagerness to learn.  I am looking forward to working with your child and having an exciting school year.
