Growing up in Syracuse, New York, I was inspired by some truly wonderful teachers. So naturally, after toying with the idea of becoming a professional tap-dancing hair dresser, I knew that what I really wanted was to become a teacher myself. I began my career after graduating from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. What a ride the past 23 years have been! I've spent most of those years teaching first and second grades and have always believed in having high expectations for every child and that learning should be fun.

I am especially passionate about environmental sustainability and through project-based learning, passing that passion on to my students. In the past, my second graders have successfully rid Pell School of plastic straws and most recently, we kicked-off a school-wide recycling campaign.

When I'm not teaching the amazing students at Pell, I'm with my husband and twin daughters. Having ten-year-old twins keeps me on my toes, but when I get a chance to, I enjoy biking, reading and of course, spending time at the beach.
