Last Wednesday, the Newport Community School and the LEGO Corporation teamed up to host a special LEGO Building Experience for Thompson Middle School Grade 5 and 6 students. More than 200 students traveled to the Newport Harbor Island Resort on Goat Island where they worked collaboratively with teachers, paraprofessionals, Newport Community School staff, and LEGO Corporate team members to “Build the Change.” Students explored how to design, make, and use things in new ways to help reduce negative impacts on communities, bringing benefits to both people and the planet. Through active play, students transformed their “Grimsville” communities into vibrant, sustainable communities supporting the basic principles of the circular economy.

Experiencia de aprendizaje LEGO para estudiantes de Thompson
