Good Afternoon Everyone,
I am happy to share that Newport Public Schools will be reopening tomorrow morning March 2. We are encouraging our bus riders to be patient as buses travel our streets slowly and safely and for all those driving to be on extra alert going throughout our neighborhoods. For our Malbone Road bus riders, one of the neighbors has graciously offered 34 Malbone Road driveway for those who have a bus stop in that area. Feel free to use that as an extra bus stop.
Have a nice afternoon and we look forward to seeing our students and staff tomorrow morning.

Dear Newport Public Schools Families and Community:
Due to the enormous amount of cleanup and recovery that is still underway and more importantly our focus on safety for all our students and staff, Newport Public Schools will remain closed for the rest of this week. This will allow our City the time it needs to clear our roads, our neighborhood's the ability to shovel out their properties and sidewalks, and our staff to address the cleanup of our school lots and facilities.
We appreciate everyone's patience and support as all of us continue our focus on safety while we address this historic snowfall and work together to get a fresh start for next week. Our hope is to return next week and resume normal school operations.
Please monitor all communications over the weekend for further information and updates.
