Thanks to a partnership with URI’s Graduate School of Oceanography, our Thompson Middle School 7th graders had the opportunity to build their own mini-boat, the TMS Sea Challenger, which was set afloat in Florida in June 2023. Students then could watch the Sea Challenger’s travels via GPS. In September, the mini-boat was discovered along the coast of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia!
