For more than 60 years, Newport has had a sister city relationship with Shimoda, Japan that has included regular cultural exchanges between our students. Last week, several Rogers High School students met their counterparts from Shimoda who had traveled to Newport. Shimoda students shared gifts and had a wonderful time interacting with and getting to know our Rogers students. What an amazing cultural exchange. And in the future, we are looking to resume sending a group of our students to Shimoda on a regular basis. A big thank you to former Mayor Napolitano and Councilor Lynn Ceglie as well as our own Principal Vance and Coach Frank Newsome for all their help in assisting the City with all the events. Thank you too to our students for being such great ambassadors for RHS. Go Vikings!!

Estudiantes de Shimoda, Japón, visitan Newport
Durante más de 60 años, Newport ha tenido una relación de ciudad hermana con Shimoda, Japón, que ha incluido intercambios culturales regulares entre nuestros estudiantes. La semana pasada, varios estudiantes de Rogers High School se reunieron con sus homólogos de Shimoda que habían viajado a Newport. Los estudiantes de Shimoda compartieron regalos y se divirtieron mucho interactuando y conociendo a nuestros estudiantes de Rogers. ¡Qué increíble intercambio cultural! Y en el futuro, esperamos reanudar el envío regular de un grupo de nuestros estudiantes a Shimoda.
